The Luton & Dunstable University Hospital is one of the most successful hospitals in the country with a strong reputation for patient safety, clinical outcomes and financial stability. The hospital is investing over £200m to substantially upgrade the estate over the next 5 years, and Murphy Philipps have been involved in creating a development masterplan since 2016.
The redevelopment supports the Trusts strategic vision to deliver integrated care, expand women’s and children’s services, grow the elective centre, and advance the commitment to training and teaching.Central to the redevelopment is the proposed Acute Services Block and New Ward Building.
A number of enabling schemes facilitate the whole site redevelopment delivering enhanced FM/service efficiency, and site resilience. These include a new multi-storey carpark, electrical substation, and energy centre. The later due for completion in 2022.
